Thanks for stopping by our About page! We hope that you find our Home Biker website a useful place to find out all the information you need to know about indoor exercise bikes. This website is run and managed by two people who both enjoy keeping fit. My name is Enda and I am the older of the two. Michael is the younger contributor, and again someone who enjoys keeping fit.
Like many of you out there, I first tried an indoor bike when I was recovering from an ankle injury, thanks to my exploits on the football field. I wasn't able to train for quite a while, but I wanted to try and stay in some sort of decent shape. I was however confined to what are termed low impact exercises. In other words exercises that didn't put any undue pressure on the joints.
When my injury happened, back then the choices for exercise bikes were pretty limited. In all honesty they were very bulky, and very poorly made. How things have changed though, to the huge variety that there are today. Back then bikes also cost a small fortune. Again in these modern times, you can pick these up for around £100.
Michael however comes at the topic of exercise bikes from a different viewpoint. He is bang up to date on all the latest spin bikes, uprights and folding bikes. That is one of his main methods of keeping fit. We met at the local gym and agreed that the information online, especially for people in the UK, was pretty limited. We decided to do something about that.
Why the Home Biker Website? - A Little About Us
In life I have always found that if you spend a few extra pounds on getting good products, that it saved you money in the long term. It is no different with an exercise bike. The good news is you don't have to go crazy to get a very high quality piece of exercise equipment.
When we started looking for information on good exercise bikes online, all that we found was A LOT of information and a great number of options. In fact, there was so much information, that it was hard to figure out all the different brands and what the differences actually were.
All we wanted was somewhere that we could compare prices, ratings, sizes, brands, and more in an easy to read and use format. We also found a lot of lists, and many Youtube videos from people sharing what their opinions, of what the best bikes on the market were.
We don't mind reading reviews, but we also like the cold hard facts and direct comparisons. There were not that many buying guides for the various exercise bikes out there, so we decided to create my own. After spending many hours of research and analysis, we have put together our own reviews that actually look at these bikes from a working perspective, and also based on good value for your money.
Over the years we have used many brands and different types of bikes Now we don’t think there is anyone out that has tried every brand and model of bike on the market. However I think we have provided a valuable resource based on the available information that is out there and we have certainly covered off most things that involve exercising using one of these bikes. I think that my "How To Guides" are particularly helpful.
Our aim with this website is to give you the information you need in an easy to digest format so that you can make the best possible exercise bike buying decision based on what matters to YOU. We will be providing my own opinions and personal research along the way, but when it comes right down to it, you might be more concerned with price than with the resistance levels or size.
If you have any question or indeed comments, the best place to leave those, is to visit our contact page. There you can quickly fill out the short form. We will try to respond as quickly as possible.
As we do more research, we will be providing in-depth reviews of various brands and products. We will include videos of our own tests with different tools and more comparative analysis. In short, we hope the site will help you find the best exercise bike for you.
